Review in pictures on the actions by the Chair in European Healthcare and Health Product Law (DESAPS), Nathalie De Grove-Valdeyron which took place during the European Association of Health Law’s 7th European Conference on Health Law – ‘Innovation and health: new challenges for Europe’ under the auspices of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland. .

DESAPS Chair workshops and conference
7th European Conference on Health Law 2019
Toulouse 1 Capitole University partnered this seventh conference on health law, which was organised by the Paul Sabatier University. It was represented by the
Jean Monnet Chair in European Health Law and several research laboratories
(Business Law Centre, Institut Maurice Hauriou, IRDEIC).

The topic chosen for this year was:
Innovation and health: new challenges for Europe.

The event was held under the patronage of Thorbjørn Jagland, secretary general of the Council of Europe, and brought together specialists in European health law (240 speakers) for three days in Toulouse.



Workshop: ‘Health risk assessment and management in the European Union’, workshop headed by Nathalie De Grove-Valdeyron, DESAPS Chair-IRDEIC-CEEC.

Conference on the topic ‘Obtaining and being refunded for healthcare in another European country. The European directive on cross-border healthcare for patients.’ Talk by Henriette Roscam Abbing, honorary president of the European Association of Health Law (EAHL); Nathalie De Grove-Valdeyron, MCF-HDR and Jean Monnet Chair; and Prof. Isabelle Poirot-Mazeres, Toulouse Capitole University; Prof. Alexandra Mendoza-Caminade - Toulouse Capitole University; Prof. Jacques Larrieu - Toulouse Capitole University.
With: Pierick Rousseau, intellectual property director at Pierre Fabre Group; Prof. Florence Taboulet, Paul Sabatier University; Elisabeth Berthet, lawyer at Promark law firm, Paris; Charlotte Lamure, Doctor of Law.

This conference looked at the advances made by the 2011 directive on patient rights to cross-border healthcare, especially in relation to the refund of health expenses in another Member State and the online healthcare network that was established by the directive.
Questions considered were how refunds could be obtained for health expenses in another State, why develop standard European networks and how do they benefit the patient.
