Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence are institutes or structures clearly defined as being specialized in European integration studies. They bring together within one or more participating higher education institutions the scientific, human and documentary resources necessary for European integration studies. Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence may be located within a single higher education institution or may be the subject of collaboration between several higher education institutions located in the same city or region.
A Jean Monnet Center of Excellence is created at the University Toulouse Capitole (already holding a Jean Monnet Chair) on the basis of its
training offer displayed in the framework of the European Law School and on the basis of its scientific know-how in the framework of its research center IRDEIC (Research Institute for European, International and Comparative Law).
