Do you speak French? Do you know the European Convention of Human Rights?

The René Cassin competition awaits!

The René Cassin European Human Rights Contest is the oldest moot court competition on European human rights law for French speakers.

It will take place between 3-5 April 2019 in Strasbourg

Entering this competition will allow you to develop many skills and is a fantastic opportunity to showcase them.

The competition is a moot court performed in the French language. While proficiency in English is a necessity for students interested in international law, you have one extra advantage: you speak French!

If you enter the competition, you could be selected for the oral stage and have the chance to make your arguments before a jury made up of university lecturers, lawyers and members of the Council of Europe and European Court of Human Rights.

The moot court competition is also a great chance to discover Strasbourg, a capital of Europe, and meet students from other countries, such as Turkey, Russia, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Canada, Romania, Slovenia, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, France, all within friendly atmosphere.

Toulouse 1 Capitole University has sent teams for the last 3 consecutive years. It intends to send another team this year. A team is made up of three people (two litigants and one adviser).

Entry is open to students from the 3rd year of undergraduate studies.

An information meeting will be held in room AR232 on Tuesday, 9 October 2018, from 12:30pm-2pm. Adrien Pech, a PhD student at Toulouse 1 Capitole University and supervisor of the team, will speak about the contest.

If you are interested in joining the moot court team, you are most welcome to attend the meeting.
